Trans Lakes Nights girls night out at Four Grove Resource Centre, 48-50 Suffolk Street, Barrow on Tuesday 10 January 2011 at 7pm
The first meeting of the year. Then possibly into town for socialising there.
The last update of the year covers a good night at Four Grove in December finishing off with a tour around a couple of the clubs; less girls out although one had missed the advert; four transgender attending but only two going into town.
The Christmas Party went well at Skint and four trans attending the event from Whitehaven, York [had seen the advert in www.tvchix.com and two locals. The York lady stayed through til the early hours saying that those attending later thought the event was going on all night!! However once again 4 trans out
Unfortunately the room that had been put aside one day a week for LGBT issues has now been closed so that Four Grove can rent it out. I had attended as a volunteer and as a member at the time of Furness and South Lakes LGBT Forum. Trans had been routed to the room because of the cover provided. The forum still continues to cover LGBT issues from the main office. Thankfully Trans Lakes Nights are allowed to continue with our once a month night at Four Grove which is free. The financial climate is hitting everybody.
