CUMBRIA PRIDE

Swallow Hilltop Hotel, Carlisle, 1 October 2011

Cumbria is hosting their first big Pride event at the Swallow Hilltop Hotel on the 1 October 2011.

This is the first Pride event held on this scale in Cumbria and we would like as much support as possible. The event is ticketed and there will be a charge; any profits from the event will either be donated to next year's Pride event or to local charities and organisations working with and for the LGBT community. The event will help promote, inform and raise awareness of these organisations working throughout Cumbria. Cumbria has LGBT youth support organisations including Pride In North Cumbria (PINC) and Barcode, who are looking forward to this event happening and are really keen to get involved.

Cumbria Pride will be a family event full of music and entertainment for young and old, as well as youth area, stalls and information stands to promote diversity in Cumbria. Cumbria Pride aims to bring the whole community together for the first time by having up to 1,500 people of all ages and sexual orientations attending the event.

We believe this event is long overdue and now is the time for it to happen as gay friendly pubs and clubs have been accepted by the community in Carlisle and Workington.

Outrageous Cabaret Bar will be hosting an aftershow party on Saturday 1 October 2011 from 10.30pm.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
