Children’s Services Consultation 0 – 19

Engagement with young LGBT through LGBT groups

& with older LGBT people fostering or caring for children & young people

OutREACH Cumbria has been asked by Cumbria County Council to participate in a consultation exercise to establish priorities for the future contracting across a range of services.

We have been asked specifically to engage with young LGBT through LGBT groups and with older LGBT people who are involved with fostering or who have caring responsibilities for children and young people.

We are looking for feedback on key issues and exploring;

  • The aspirations of children and young people who are LGB or T, the link between aspirations and provision of services, including access to services and user experience of services.
  • Specific needs relating to LGB and T children and young people in the operation and culture of the service provision.
  • Issues about separation, specialism and integration into mainstream services.

If you would like to have your say on the direction of contracting for services relating to children and young people in Cumbria, the deadline for returns is the end of June 2013.

Please email your comments about services for children and young people particularly for LGB and T young people.

Email us at outreachcumbria@live.co.uk

It is important that LGB and T people have their needs met at any age and at whatever stage they are at in their lives.

The services that Cumbria County Council provides directly or provides through contractors must be inclusive and cover the needs all sections of the community

Thank you
