Making the Links – poverty, ethnicity and social networks

Feedback workshop – Tuesday, March 19th 2013 Kendal Town Hall

Organised in association with and following on from the

South Lakes Equality and Diversity Partnership

Purpose

This research project has looked at how people from different ethnic communities use networks (of all kinds) to move out of poverty and find social support. This might involve connections with friends, family and members of the wider community to gain employment, to sustain businesses or obtain capital assets.

This workshop provides an opportunity to hear about what we have found out from interviews, observations and conversations with various agencies. We are also interested in your views about how we can use these findings can be interpreted and implemented in practice.
